Oneoneroa set to break ground on 16 new homes

Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Properties is breaking ground on the second stage of its North Shore development, Oneoneroa, with construction set to start in May.

Oneoneroa, launched late 2019, is the first major Tāmaki Makaurau residential property development headed by a local hapū.

Following the sale of its first 13 homes in 2020 and the sale of four homes off the plans released late last year, the hapū development company will move forward with its second stage of 16 homes (Stage 2) to be built on the corner of Eversleigh and Lowe Street in Belmont.

Neil Donnelly, General Manager of Property Development for Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Properties, says interest in Oneoneroa has exceeded expectations and the company hope to have more homes available to purchase off the plans soon.

“This is an exciting milestone for Oneoneroa as we break ground on these brand-new homes. The response to the first stage and our recent sale of four homes is a testament to the opportunity the Oneoneroa location and community offers home buyers.

“There is a strong appetite for low maintenance, purpose built and stylish homes in this neighbourhood. We hope to have nine additional homes for purchase off the plans (Stage 1F) by next month for those eager to join this thriving community,” says Neil.

Stage 1F will offer a combination of nine two-, three- and four-bedroom homes with access to local parks and beaches, in close proximity to supermarkets and schools.

Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Properties is guided by foundational values of sustainability and kaitiakiatanga, which has driven the initiatives to revive the original name of the location and gift an e-bike for each household.
